The Classification and Pay Division is responsible for administering the City's classification and compensation systems and providing personnel management advisory assistance to departmental personnel managers and employees on a variety of classification, compensation and organizational issues. To accomplish this, we
Perform job audits and ensure positions are properly classified
Establish new classes and determine pricing levels
Conduct classification and compensation studies
Conduct research on classification and pay matters
Conduct organizational reviews
Establish compensation and classification policies, procedures and guidelines
Participate in collective bargaining wage negotiations
Develop salary adjustment recommendations for excluded managerial employees
