Public HearingRevision of a hydrologic map in the City's 208 Water Quality PlanNotice is hereby given that the Department of Environmental Services, City and County of Honolulu, will hold a public hearing for revision of a hydrologic map in the City's 208 Water Quality Plan. The revision will indicate that there are more than 3 million gallons per day per shoreline mile of freshwater discharge (including streams and underground springs, but excluding the sewage outfall) into the water near Barbers Point. This will affect which water quality standards are applied to the area, due to the pollutant and nutrient loading from the freshwater sources. The existing and revised map and the document supporting the correction of the map is available at the State Main library, the Ewa Beach Public and School Library, the Pearl City Public Library, the Mililani Public Library, from this link, or from the Wastewater Permit Counter on the first floor of the Municipal Building (650 South King Street). Parties interested in testifying, or who require special accomodations, including a sign-language interpreter, should contact the Department as indicated below by October 6, 2000. Persons wishing to send only written testimony should send it by October 6, 2000 to the address below. Persons may also bring written testimony or sign up at the Public Hearing.
